FIELD ENGINEER (100% field) Job Type: Direct HireSalary: 75K-85K We are proud to represent one of the largest geotechnical construction companies in North America. In this role, candidates should bring a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field, along with 1–3 years of field engineering experience on ground improvement, earth retention, or deep foundation projects. Familiarity with geotechnical construction methods and equipment, coupled with a solid understanding of construction safety and quality assurance protocols, is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required for documentation and communication, while the ability to interpret and mark up construction drawings in AutoCAD is also important. This is a 100% field-based position focused on quality control and safety oversight, with frequent travel required. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to field challenges, and the ability to coordinate effectively with both internal teams and external partners on complex construction projects. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, schedule, and coordinate technical and quality control aspects of assigned construction projects
Monitor project execution to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, engineering standards, and contract requirements
Oversee field activities and serve as a liaison between company crew, general contractors, consultants, and inspectors
Support field operations in troubleshooting technical issues and propose corrective actions
Prepare and review daily field reports, logs, and inspection documentation
Assist in data analysis related to load testing, grouting pressure, and quality control metrics
Conduct or assist with layout, survey, and documentation of pile or soil improvement locations
Ensure implementation of company safety and environmental compliance protocols
Attend client meetings, preconstruction conferences, and assist in resolving quality or field performance issues
Contribute to submittal preparation, as-built documentation, and project closeout packages
REQUIREMENTS:
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field
Preferred: EIT Certification or working toward PE licensure
1–3 years of related field engineering experience in deep foundation or geotechnical construction is a strong plus
Familiarity with geotechnical construction methods and equipment
Strong knowledge of construction safety and quality assurance protocols
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) – Daily use for documentation and communication
AutoCAD – Ability to interpret and mark up construction drawings
Project Management Tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) – For basic scheduling and reporting
Surveying Tools (Total Stations, GPS units) – Familiarity with layout and data collection methods
PDF Editing Tools – For technical documentation and submittal processing
Must be willing to travel and work on various job sites as required
