Utilize procedures to prevent product, service, and process non-conformances

Ensure that environmental issues are managed according to legal requirements, the environmental policy, the environmental management system procedures and good management practices

Maintain an awareness of objectives and targets pertaining to work and the importance of achieving the objectives and targets
Understand both the Communication Procedure and the Emergency Preparedness and Response Procedure
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all assets throughout the plant
Maintain facility equipment, including powered plant vehicles such as forklifts, terminal tractor/yard truck, skid-steers, telescopic boom lift
Maintain steam system piping and auxiliary equipment (condensate pumps, steam traps, etc.)
Maintain compressed air system; identify and repair leaks throughout plant
Maintain building and grounds, including roll-up doors, automated gates, trash removal and snow removal
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and breakdowns
Participate in capital project planning and implementation
Support contractors on capital projects
Install, repair and maintain piping, valves, industrial mixers and pumps
Write hot work, confined space, lockout/tagout and line breaking permits as needed
Perform calibration of measuring sticks and other instruments requiring calibration
Conduct housekeeping activities and Lean Manufacturing practices to ensure an efficient, organized workshop and office area
Provide training and mentorship for new FSG members as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of industrial maintenance experience required, chemical industry preferred
Strong technical troubleshooting/repairing equipment proficiency and demonstrated field experience
Plumbing and pipe fitting experience preferred
High school diploma or GED equivalent required, including basic math skills
Must be able to operate a forklift
Arc, MIG & TIG welding experience preferred
Ability to operate oxygen-acetylene torch preferred
Experience repairing gas and diesel operating equipment preferred
Strong work ethic and attendance record, being available on call may be required
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Basic computer skills, experience with computerized maintenance management systems preferred
