Director of Quality- Aerospace
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Compensation: $140,000 – $150,000
Job Type: Direct Hire
We are engaged in a search for a highly skilled and experienced Director of Quality to lead the Quality Department for our client. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our client’s company upholds the highest quality standards across all operations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in quality systems, FDA regulations, and project management, with proven success in the aerospace or related industries. Basic Function
Oversee daily operations of the Quality Department, managing quality technicians and support personnel.
Collaborate directly with customers to resolve quality concerns effectively.
Lead root cause and corrective action processes (internal and customer), maintaining the CAR log.
Monitor and maintain Quality Objective Trends, taking corrective action when goals are not met.
Implement processes aimed at achieving zero defects and improving customer quality ratings.
Deliver training throughout the organization; maintain and facilitate special process personnel testing and certifications.
Manage internal and external audits for both customers and processes.
Maintain quality documentation records demonstrating conformance to Risk Management and Continuous Improvement processes.
Track and manage the Customer Compliment and Complaint Process and Log.
Review and approve purchase orders (POs) and process routers.
Job Requirements
Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Quality Assurance Manager in the automotive, aerospace, or related industry.
Extensive experience with the Aerospace industry and audits.
Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with IATF 16949 and AS9100 QMS requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (advanced degree preferred).
Proven track record in a similar role within manufacturing.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
