Senior Staff Accountant
Direct Hire
Harrisonburg, VA- Position is on-site*
$60-75k
Experience with SAP is strongly desired**
The Senior Staff Accountant will report to the Senior Financial Manager and be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of our manufacturing facility including but not limited to Accounts Payable processing, assistance with Accounts Receivable duties, and aiding in month-end closing procedures. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, experience with SAP or ERP systems, and strong data analysis skills using Excel. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment in a rapidly growing company.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage the accounts payable functions and assist with accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely payments of bills and collections of receivables.
Financial Reporting: Complete account analyses and reconciliations to assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
SAP/ERP Management: Utilize SAP to manage financial transactions, ensure accurate data entry, and generate reports. Work on improving processes within the SAP system for efficiency and accuracy.
Data Analysis: Perform in-depth financial data analysis using Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas to support decision-making.
Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and external regulations.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Assist with general office duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Previous work within a CPA firm
Tax accounting
Manufacturing industry and cost accounting experience a plus.
Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems and Excel skills are required.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
