FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN
JOB TYPE:: DIRECT HIRE
QPT has been engaged to identify a skilled Field Service Technician to join our clients growing team. This role supports customers primarily within a 4 hour travel radius. When not in the field, the technician will support operations at the Brighton location. All travel expenses are reimbursed.
This position focuses on service, repair, installation, and commissioning of advanced non ferrous metal and woodworking machinery. The technician will represent the company on site while delivering high quality technical support and customer service.
COMPENSATION
• Up to $24 or $25 per hour for limited experience
• Up to $30 or $32 per hour for candidates who can read prints and schematics, perform diagnostics, and understand pneumatics
• Up to $40 per hour for candidates who can troubleshoot servos, are well versed in CNC systems, and can use CAD CAM
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Install, commission, and test new or rebuilt equipment at customer sites
• Train machine operators and maintenance personnel on proper equipment use and care
• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of field machinery
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software related equipment issues
• Recommend and support preventative maintenance programs
• Complete detailed field service reports including time, work performed, and recommendations
• Provide professional customer support while addressing technical questions on site
• Support operations at the Brighton facility when not traveling
QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years of hands on experience installing and maintaining industrial machinery
• Experience with CNC machining centers including flat table, pod and rail, and bore and insert systems
• Experience with front load beam panel saws
• Experience with edge banders
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical prints and schematics
• Solid understanding of pneumatics
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to travel within a 4 hour radius with occasional overnight stays
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
