Job Description
SUPPLY CHAIN / MATERIALS MANAGERJOB SUMMARYDirect and oversee procurement and materials operations to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components, superior quality, competitive pricing, and uninterrupted production support. RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement policies and procedures for purchasing, MRO, VMI, capital requests, and materials management.
Lead, mentor, and evaluate Materials Buyers; establish goals and measure performance.
Plan and direct systems to meet or exceed production and customer requirements.
Review and approve requisitions, purchase orders, contracts, and claims for policy compliance.
Analyze market conditions, material availability, and cost trends; prepare market analyses to support sourcing decisions.
Develop and execute sourcing strategies, including supplier selection, RFQs/RFPs, negotiations, and contract management to ensure continuity of supply.
Negotiate pricing, delivery, and terms; drive supplier performance improvements in quality, cost, and delivery.
Conduct vendor audits and manage approved supplier qualifications.
Manage inventory to optimize availability and minimize excess/obsolete stock, including cycle counts, E&O review, and inventory turn improvement.
Oversee and improve ERP/IQMS systems to ensure accurate purchasing data, inventory integrity, and material flow.
Drive cost reduction initiatives through value analysis, alternate sourcing, and strategic supplier partnerships.
Coordinate cross-functionally with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure contract and production requirements are met.
Manage surplus material disposition.
Support General Manager and leadership team in achieving company objectives.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience (3–5+ years related experience).
3+ years supervisory experience.
Automotive experience with OEM systems knowledge.
Strong background in plastic materials and processing.
Proficient in spreadsheet and word processing software.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Inventory management and logistics experience preferred.
Injection mold design knowledge preferred.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Ability to interpret business, technical, and regulatory documents.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities, including mathematical and statistical application.
Ability to manage complex variables and interpret written, oral, and diagram-based instructions.
