Job Description
Project Manager Qualified Professional and Technical is partnered with a respected client in the construction and geotechnical field to identify an experienced Project Manager. Our team is managing the full search process and we invite qualified professionals to apply. Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development and Proposal Preparation
Identify new opportunities and coordinate with management on overall strategy
Support identification of new markets, clients, and technologies while building strong client relationships
Assemble proposals that include risk assessment, estimating, engineering, technical writing, site visits, and client question and answer needs
Negotiate contracts and ensure full understanding of contract requirements
Coordinate with the pre construction team when needed
Risk Management
Fully understand and comply with all risk management policies and procedures
Recognize major risks and take proper measures to reduce or eliminate them
Initial Planning
Manage designs, submittals, material ordering, early job planning, and scheduling
Plan pre project meetings with the Superintendent and other stakeholders
Develop project strategies that support profit growth
Project Execution
Build and lead effective project teams
Ensure work meets all specifications, schedules, and budgets
Identify and address challenges while seeking opportunities to maximize profit
Change Management
Identify, track, and address project changes and escalate when necessary
Financial Management
Approve and monitor weekly and monthly financial reports, forecasts, and budgets
Manage accounts receivable and support timely collections
Safety and Quality Assurance
Ensure full compliance with client safety requirements and OSHA standards
Partner with the safety team on any safety incidents
Resolve quality issues and exercise stop work authority when required
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred
5 to 10 years of geotechnical, construction, or related industry experience preferred
Proven experience overseeing projects from planning through execution while ensuring quality, safety, and profit growth
Strong experience assembling proposals including:
Risk assessment
Estimating
Engineering
Technical writing
Proficient in Project Management and Scheduling tools including:
Microsoft Project for scheduling, tracking timelines, and resource planning
Primavera P6 for planning and scheduling larger projects
Procore, Buildertrend, or Viewpoint for document control, RFIs, submittals, and daily logs
