CNC PROTOTYPE MACHINISTS – LATHE AND MILL OPENINGS

SUMMARY: Our client has partnered with QPT to locate experienced CNC Prototype Machinists to join their growing manufacturing team. The ideal candidates will bring hands-on experience in prototype machining with strong proficiency in operating CNC lathes and/or CNC mills. These positions are key to producing high-quality components that meet precise specifications. Successful candidates will demonstrate mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate CNC lathes and mills to fabricate precision prototype parts according to specifications
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements
Modify and edit G code programs as needed
Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers to verify dimensional accuracy
Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot minor issues as they arise
Apply lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste
Collaborate with team members to optimize tooling, setups, and workflow processes
Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to all safety standards
REQUIREMENTS:
Proven experience as a CNC Lathe and/or Mill Machinist in a prototype or precision manufacturing environment (7 to 15 years preferred)
Ability to read, write, and modify G code programs
Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to operate power tools and precision instruments
Experience with tooling setup and adjustments
Proficient in reading blueprints and understanding technical specifications
Ability to work independently and in a team environment with strong communication skills
Commitment to producing high-quality work with attention to accuracy and detail
PAY AND BENEFITS:
$25 to $30 per hour with a 90-day compensation review
